NYSED Representatives Visit 'Reward' High School In Tuckahoe
Members of the New York State Education Department took a special trip to Tuckahoe this week to evaluate its progressive approach to education as high school officials seek additional grant funds. The officials took the trip to Tuckahoe after the high school requested state funding based on student recognition after it was designated as a Reward School by the State Education Department in August for the third consecutive year, ranking it amongst the top schools in New York.

William E. Cottle School Talent Show Raises Funds For Student
Students from the William E. Cottle Elementary School will participate in the 5th Annual Cottle's Got Talent Show and Benefit in the Cottle Auditorium, in Tuckahoe on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. The proceeds of the show will go directly to the family of 11-year-old Tuckahoe student, Jenna Velez, who is undergoing her ninth surgery on her legs. More than 50 elementary students participating in the show have given their time, talent and commitment to this cause.

Chapel School Student Raises Awareness of Endangered Animals
The school collects offerings during its weekly Chapel Service and donates them to Eastchester Community Action Program, a local agency in Tuckahoe providing food and other essentials to local families in need; Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen; and Furniture Sharehouse, which provides free furniture to economically disadvantaged individuals and families living in Westchester. The second-grader, who the school only identified by her first name, opened up a cookie and lemonade stand over the summer and donated the proceeds to the school's library.
