Bronxville's Urbina Among Boy Scouts To Earn Eagle Honor

Six members of Eastchester's Troop 353 have earned the highest achievement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout award. The six are: Derek Cheung, 18, of Eastchester, Tenneth Fairclough, 17, of the Bronx, Andrew Mrose, 17, of Yonkers, Matthew Occhicone, 16, of Eastchester, Noah Orlando, 18, of Eastchester and Alejandro Urbina, 16, of Bronxville, The six will be recognized in ceremonies at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church at 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe.

Tuckahoe and Ardsley Land on State 'Fiscal Stress' List

The villages of Tuckahoe and Ardsley are currently under "significant" and "moderate" fiscal stress , respectively, according to a new report released Monday by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. The two are the only communities in Westchester County to make the list, which in total names 22 municipalities around the state that are in various degrees of fiscal stress.

Winter Weather Forces Tuckahoe Schools To Shorten Spring Recess

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. Due to the barrage of winter weather that has pelted Westchester County since the new year, school officials in Tuckahoe have been forced to utilize the district's first make-up day. On Wednesday, Schools Superintendent Barbara Nuzzi announced that due to the two latest snow days, the district will be open and regular classes will be on Monday, March 30, which was originally scheduled to be the first day of spring recess.
